Individual Quizbowl Championship

Monday, May 28, 2012 (Memorial Day)
Hyatt Regency Hotel – Atlanta, GA

Registration is 8:00-8:30 AM. The championship will be concluded no later than 4:00 PM.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

Players will compete in eight rounds of seeded preliminary matches followed by two rounds of playoff matches. All players are guaranteed ten matches. The top ten after the two playoff matches will advance to the championship match. We will crown both an overall champion and a JV champion (highest finishing sophomore or younger).

The top four overall finishers will receive cash prizes, sponsored jointly by ACE and NHBB

1st Place – $500
2nd Place – $300
3rd Place – $200
4th Place – $100

WHO CAN PLAY?

This tournament is open to any student in grades 6-12. This is an individual competition, and there is no minimum or maximum number of students that can enter from a given school.

Depending on interest, space and staffing, we may reserve the right to cap the field. If we institute a cap, we will take registrations on a first-come-first-served basis before forming a waiting list.

FEES

Registration for the tournament is $99, which includes a t-shirt and a copy of the questions. The registration deadline is Friday, May 4, 2012. Registrations will be accepted after this deadline (as space is available) but will carry a $15 late registration fee.
