ABOUT MILLIGAN COLLEGE

Milligan College is a private liberal arts college founded in 1866. The campus is located just minutes from downtown Johnson City, in the beautiful Tri-Cities area of northeastern Tennessee and southwestern Virginia.

The campus is located in the breathtaking Blue Ridge Range of the Appalachians. The campus is just minutes away from world-class hiking and rafting, if you’re looking for a side trip before or after camp.

Course Offerings

There are 5 periods to each day. Periods are 60 minutes each day
EXCEPT the last day when they are 45 minutes each. Every camper takes
TWO periods of ability-grouped general practice sessions and THREE
periods of classes (one of which can be an additional subject-specific
practice session).

Check-in for coaches and players will be on Tuesday, July 6 , from 12 noon through 3:00 pm. Note: All camp staff will meet at 3 p.m. the first day of camp in camp headquarters.

Prior to camp, each camper should complete a Health Form. This form can be printed here and mailed with your registration form/check, or turned-in at registration.

At check-in each camper will receive several important items:

  • Room assignment and key.
  • Schedule of camp activities.
  • Camp notebook

NOTE: All campers must leave a $50 deposit for dorm keys. The deposit will be refunded when keys are returned. Any key returned late will be considered lost and the camper will forfeit the deposit.

We’ve yet to finalize exactly what dorm buildings we’ll be using on campus, but be prepared for typical college dorm life, including hall baths. You will need to bring your own:

  1. sheets (single beds only)
  2. pillow and pillow covering
  3. towels and toiletry items
  4. an alarm device of some sort
  5. an umbrella
  6. writing instruments (including highlighters)
  7. notebook paper or spiral notebook

Dress is casual at camp functions. Shorts are the preferred dress as it is generally warm in July. Please be sure that your attire is appropriate.

The dorms are supervised at night by two staff members, and an ACE director is on supervisory duty also. Please be cooperative and respectful.

Camp check-out will be from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm on Saturday, July 10. You will need to be out of your dorm room by 4:30 pm that afternoon.

All meals are provided from dinner onTuesday to lunch on Saturday; however, you may wish to bring extra money for snacks, drinks, souvenirs, etc.

Pick-Up and Drop-Off

Parents may drop off campers beginning at 12 noon on Tuesday, July 6. Registration will continue until 3:00 p.m.
Parents may pick-up campers beginning around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 10. All campers need to be out of their rooms and off campus by 4:30 p.m.
Parents who want to watch the final competition at camp should arrive by 12:00 since the subject area tournament, in which all campers participate, will begin shortly after 12:00.

Recreation

There won’t be a lot of free time, but students will have some recreational time during the dinner break (4:00-7:00 each day). There will also be an organized morning jog for campers who are interested.

There are outdoor basketball and volleyball courts near the dorms that can be used free of charge. If you are interested, bring your own equipment. Some dorm buildings have ping pong tables, televisions, and game rooms.

In your registration confirmation materials, you will receive a cell phone number that you can use in emergencies to contact an ACE director 24/7.

Johnson City is conveniently located on I-26, near the intersection of I-26 and I-81.
